Who will be getting into 8th Edition?

However, my suggestion to using the warband or border princes rules is to not use it. Simple fact of the matter, if we are planning to scale things up every other month (please be every other month as opposed to every month), we should just adhere to the new rules in 8th edition.

Wolf SHOULD have a HARD copy of the book *wink wink* (perhaps he may photocopy the rule book and keep one at the shop for reference sake). So everyone SHOULD have a chance to have a look see. Dunno when he'll get down to doing it though.

i've had a read of some of the rules. I believe we should start off with the border prince/ yadda yadda ruleset and then move to full on 8th ed ruleset for army composition. However still need to test it out to get a feel and better understanding. Increment should come every 2-3 months or so. Buying countless amounts of minis, having to assemble and paint can be very tedious. Also something along the lines of other games would require some sort of attention as well.

Well, if people want to try out with 500pts, i suggest the adepticon ruleset as its more up-to-date. Also because i've started assembling my greatswords... Don't want to assemble ugly ugly empire knights...

Anyway... let's make September a "learning" month. Any To4G should be after. Then we'll do with proper understanding of painting and increments. To jump into a system without a clear idea of hows things work is just wreckless *stares at wonderful wonderful cupboard of Rackham metal*

Then maybe we can hold something starting closer to end of year to kick off To4G. Most of us have unpainted miniatures and also painting commitments with other gaming systems (40k, Uncharted Seas, Malifaux, yada-yada). I can only see mudster who has cheated by already having his skinks and sauruses fully painted as having a good chance at fielding a army by Sept 2010.

Baby steps... GWs been around forever... It'll still be around for a while... hehhehe

Besides, I need movement trays... An airbrush... and a holiday to get the army up...

Btw, looking at the content of the Island of Blood box-set:

The rulebook is complete with even the reference, magic and stuff.

You get a bunch of dice (including scatter and artillery dice), the flamer, 5" and 3" explosion and a range rulers.

I still don't know if I want the high-elves and skavens minis. Maybe they can entice me to build a second and third army while I collect my lizardmen?

My other issue is that I will have to buy the High Elves and Skaven army books too.
