AT-43 Version 2 Late 2010 / Early 2011

Huh, it looks like they have been working on Version 2. Late this year or early next year. According to the dragons, anyway:

There's more news about AT-43 V2 on RE's website.

In summary, here's what we know:

- Minis retain their stats but have abilities changed.
- Table of universal resolution remains (yay!)
- New rules for Indirect Fire
- New firing type: Covering Fire (keep enemies heads down)
- True LoS - sizes on cards no longer used
- More support for >2 players

I think this might be the very last chance for AT-43. If they don't manage to revive it (including supply problems) this game will die completely.

Thing is, I don't think the current rules are bad, per se. In fact, like I've said before, I like this ruleset better than 40k. It would only help AT-43 if they improved the rules, sure but I don't personally think that that is the real problem.

It's always been their bungled PR, poor marketing and severe availability issues that have plagued this game. So hopefully, when they release V2, it will be accompanied with a large concerted marketing push with a revamped/improved supply chain. And more fluff, damnit!
